Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch and Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland wants a Doctor Strange/Spider-Man team up. Avengers: Infinity War will hit the screens in less than a week and the movie will be the culmination of MCU thus far, bringing together the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of Galaxy to stop Thanos from collecting the six Infinity Stones.
The trailers and promos mainly promoted the arrival of the Mad Titan, but it also had interactions between different MCU heroes. Whether it is Black Panther and Hulk, Thor and Rocket, or Iron Man and Doctor Strange, the multiple pairings are bound to hold too much fun. Both Doctor Strange and Spider-Man are part of Iron Man’s group and you will see the characters forming a new relationship in Infinity War. They will also play a major role in moving the MCU forward.
As part of the Avengers: Infinity War‘s press junket, Screenrant spoke to both Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch. They were asked about the possibility of a Doctor Strange/Spider-Man team up in the future. Both of them actually want such a team up in the future and even have ideas for how it could happen.
Benedict Cumberbatch said:
And even if it is, you know, doing a coffee run for one another or just like hanging out or we’ll go play ball in the park or it’s doing every day, start picking up our laundry. I would really like that to be expanded to something really fantastic.
Tom Holland Said:
I came up with an idea the other day that will never happen. Peter Parker is at school, has a mad, mad headache, rings up someone and says “I just really need your help. It’s really important.” And then a voice says “OK”, and then he goes over to your house and your dressed up as Doctor Strange and you’re ready to do business. And I’m like, “I have a headache. Do you know what this is?” And I, because you’re a brain surgeon so you think I need you to like save the world again, but really I just need your doctor expertise I just need you to be a doctor.
We all know that Spider-Man is going to stick around with the MCU even after Avengers 4 and it’s a safe best to assume that Doctor-Strange will stick around too. The chances are really high to see a crossover once again after Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4.
